Hooray Loves | August Wrap Up
Hooray Loves is anything wedding or community related that has caught my eye during the month.
It’s cute ideas and trends that I have fallen in love with, and want to share with you to inspire you for your own wedding!
So without further adieu, here are my top finds for the month of August, I hope that these bring a smile to your face and inspiration to your own wedding planning journey!
This is without a doubt the most exciting thing that has happened this month! Dave branching out and launching his very own online store (with the help of Lady Cat/Boss Lady, Derryn of course) is honestly like a room full of rainbows. Dave has such a special place in our hearts as he first started out as Hoorays very own confetti “connoisseur” and watching him soar to new heights is just the bee’s knees!
Dave, you are going places boy! Your charm, wit and undeniable passion for what you do is going to bring a smile to many a bride’s face! Well done Dave!
If you missed Dave’s interview on ECR on Friday morning, you can catch a listen here
2. Say Yes Ballito
Just over a week ago, we were invited to a wonderful wedding inspiration evening held at the Lifestyle Centre in Ballito. Hosted by Cooked In and our lovely friend Cindy from Love Laugh Proteas, this evening was filled to the brim with gorgeous wedding inspiration, awesome cocktails and treats a plenty.
Dresses from Ivory Isle, Cakes from Chataux Gateux, Catering from Delish Sisters, Drinks from Alchemy, Wine from Hermanuspietersfontein and Ice-Cream from Scoop made for one hell of an indulgent evening and a lively catch up with industry friends.

3. Casey Jeanne in NYC
Okay so Casey was not really in NYC, but it was super exciting to see one of her gorgeous custom creations being worn by South Africa’s own Kim Jayde for the VMA awards in New York City.
Case, your work is incredible and we just want to give you a virtual high-five for flying not only the Durban, but the South African flag high.
4. Top Vendor Awards
Massive congratulations to our amazing Durban wedding vendors who WON BIG at the prestigious Top Vendor Wedding Awards in Pretoria a few weeks back. Congratulations to the Oh Happy Day team for winning the best wedding concept award and to Hanrie Leus Bridal for Best Wedding Dress of 2018, as well as Lauren Setterberg for best styled concept and Natural Nostalgia for best floral creation!
Guys, this is more than massive!!!! So much talent right here in Durban! You make us so proud! CONGRATULATIONS!
5. NEW TREND ALERT – Coloured Glasses
As we stated last month, COLOUR IS IN and we are loving the dark hues and pops of bright which are becoming more and more prominent as brides are getting braver and bolder. We love how coloured glasswear is bringing in an element of fun and personality to the wedding table. We also love the chunky-ness of the glass which seems a lot more stable than a thin delicate flute, allowing you to party on with flair! Cheers!
Spotted on The Wedding Table and Planned to Perfection from the Hooray Workshops, The Joy Workshop
We are thinking of our friend Brittany Jane Smith, who has put her make up brushes down and her feet up before welcoming her TWIN baby girls next month! Enjoy these last few weeks mama-bear! We are thinking of you!
7. Toujours under new management!
We are so excited to report that Toujours bridal house is NO LONGER closing it’s doors, but is under NEW MANAGEMENT! A massive congratulations to new #girlboss Siyanda who is taking over the reins and who will surely be bringing a smile to many a bride’s face! We wish you all the best!
8. Team work, makes the dream work
THIS, on so many levels THIS!
When a power house team of creatives gets together on what was one of the most miserable days in Durban and brings THIS to life, we can’t help but sit back and give a slow clap. So much moody vibes alongside a renaissance inspiration makes this a 10/10 in our books! Good work team, send more sneakies soon!
And thats a wrap for August! If you have anything coming up in September that you would love to share or you think may inspire other brides, be sure to hit me up at email@example.com
