Hooray Loves | Charity
We are three wedding photographers. Our days are long and we get tired, but how awesome is our job? We get to spend every Saturday witnessing and photographing what will possibly be the best day in someones (hopefully 2 peoples) lives! What an honor.
We feel so privileged to be around this positive and happy energy every single week. But we know that life is not happy for every one.
This morning an email landed in my inbox from a photographer that I so admire. Nadia Meli is turning 30 this month and instead of gifts, she asked that you contribute to a great cause. This is what she has to say…
It’s my goal to get to 3000 € until August 31st. If we can raise more than that, that would be amazing.
If you are reading this, I trust your heart will break for these children too and I already want to thank you for the donation you are going to make.
The Hooray team has made our donation and while we understand that our rands may not change the world, we pray that it will save even one child.
In fact, we have an idea for the brides out there…
If you feel strongly about this cause, or any cause for that matter and if you don’t feel the need to receive countless gifts from your wedding guests – how about asking that they make a donation in your name instead. Wouldn’t that be a great way to pay the Universe back for the good you have received in life?

Are you a dog lover? Help the Barking Mad foundation by donating towards feeding an animal in their care. You can even choose a dog to sponsor via images and descriptions. Wouldn’t this be a lovely thing to get your kids involved in? Bringing a dog into your home may not be an option, but you can stop a dog from going hungry.
Since it’s woman’s month, we thought this would be an appropriate charity to support: Sonke Gender Justice. They do all kinds of charity work but are specifically focused on gender equality and human rights.
Look what this couple did…
With all the doom and gloom in the news these days – poaching, child trafficking, war – it’s refreshing to know that there are decent and generous humans out there, doing their best to help others get by.
We leave you with the quote…
“We make a living by what we get, But we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill
