February Wrap Up

The shortest month of the year, but it seemed to be jam packed with so many amazing wedding related goodies.

The month of February is one that Christy and I just LOVE! Not only is it Valentines month (yup, we are both romantics at heart!) but we also both celebrate our birthdays in February! February has also become the new date for the annual Hooray Party – so lots of love, celebrations and parties were had this month!

So, without any further waiting, let’s get cracking on everything we saw in the month of February.

  1. Demi + Tim’s tropical honeymoon
Demi and Tim’s amazing wedding was followed by a picture perfect honeymoon in the Maldives. We have loved watching their love story grow and kept our eyes on all their celebrations. From their engagement, to her bridal shower and bachelorette, wedding day and now honeymoon, these two really know how to celebrate love! Congrats, guys!
  2. Brittany Snow’s Bachelorette Bash
Pitch, please! This is the bachelorette weekend out of every ‘Pitch Perfect’ fan dreams! A mini reunion was in order for the PP girls as Brittany Snow’s upcoming nuptials was reason enough to celebrate the bride to be. It looked liked the best bachelorette bash, and we have serious FOMO!
  3. Champagne Bridemaids
When we saw this on Instagram we had a little “stop, you are lying!” moment! We can’t decide if this idea is pure genius or a bit nerve wracking for the bridesmaids! Either way, we love it when bride’s have “out the box” ideas and have unique ideas that they stick too. That’s how you make your wedding day unique to you! Pictures by Kate Martens Photography.
  4. Royal Wedding confirmed
Get ready Royal fanatics, we have a Royal Wedding on the horizon..yippee!! We will all have our eyes glued to our screens on the 29th of May as Princess Beatrice says I do to her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The ceremony will take place at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace, with the reception to be held at Buckingham Palace.
  5. A colourful gift
As I have said before, these wrap ups are never complete without a tear jerker… cue the tissues! Before they said I do, Karli decided to gift her hubby to be, Ty, colour correcting glasses. Ty is colorblind and therefore unable to see vivid colors like most people can. He wasn’t able to be as involved with picking out colors and themes for their wedding as he would’ve liked.
  6. ECR wedding in a week
This seemed like such fun and we are sure all the Durban vendors involved had the best time! On Valentine’s Day, Matthew and Nicole said I do after winning an amazing competition that East Coast Radio hosted. The ECR team then worked with local Durban wedding suppliers to pull off a wedding in only one week – how amazing?! Best of all, it was all expenses paid, whaaaaat! Now that is amazing competition! Congratulations Matthew and Nicole, wishing you many happy years ahead.
  7. Cereal Aisle Photos
We love, love, LOVE different ideas like this! At the end of the day, your wedding day is what you make of it and these two decided to go back to where they first met to take their wedding photos. You are seeing correctly, they took their photos in a cereal aisle at their local supermarket.
  8. Adele officiates best friend’s wedding
Adele is becoming a firm favourite amongst her engaged friends to be the officiant. This is the second time this year she has officiated a friend’s wedding and we are dying over this low key, amazing wedding day! Adele even got behind the mic to belt out “Rolling in the Deep” with the bride and groom… love!
  9. Last but not least, the Hooray Industry Party!
A picture perfect evening with all our industry friends, it was oh so amazing! A big thank you to The Bond Shed, Aisle Hire It, Afro’s, Oh Happy Day, Steven Heyns and McCarthy Wolff. If you would like to see more, click here

So that’s a wrap for February!
