Into the Woods
If you go into the woods today
You’re sure of a big surprise…
No, it is not a teddy bear’s picnic, but rather an Easter Styled Shoot!
The lovely Kimberley from Natural Nostalgia sent me a few sneak peeks this week and I jumped at the opportunity to share it… you know how I love my celebrations!
From oh-so-pretty flower girls to the most gorgeous tablescape and stationery, the magic-makers behind this shoot really brought together their ideas so wonderfully.
It is Easter weekend, so the only way to enjoy this blog post is with a cup of tea and copious amounts of Easter eggs!
The idea for our style shoot was first sparked by Natalie, who has just launched her gorgeous babywear line called Clementine May. Nat’s is just one of the many entrepreneurs who have had to “pivot” their businesses to ensure survival during the Covid-19 pandemic. Natalie’s full-time job is as a beauty therapist, running her own salon as well as running Hitched Hair and Makeup, specialising in weddings and bridal make-up and hair with her work wife Macheila.
Nat’s now also creates the cutest little flower girl dresses for weddings and other boutique style baby clothes.
Getting a group of like-minded individuals together for a moody style shoot in our back yards….Yep! We all live about 2 minutes from these beautiful forests (blessed) ..well that was easy. ‘
“Into the Woods” was the name chosen for our style shoot and all the creative minds started bubbling over with ideas. The colour scheme became dark and moody like the mottled shade of the forest after heavy rains. We wanted to celebrate Easter as well as the launch of Clementine May’s bespoke flower girl dresses with two cutie pie models hunting for Easter eggs with matching baskets in hand.
We chose dark plum, mauve, lilac and blush pink as the colour scheme with a touch of deep forest greens and rich teal. Natural Nostalgia created a beautiful enchanted forest table with a cute little green rabbit nestled into moss with golden Easter eggs. The florals had a mixed palette of lilacs, lavenders, purples and maroon with soft pinks. The decor was a mix of golds with teal blue floor-length runner and mauve napkins. Our bride got a beautiful forest-inspired bouquet and our little forest fairy a cute floral crown.
The stationery was done by the uber-talented Wendy from Indigo and Ivory designs.
Wendy went with modern and simple use of fonts, with rich teal blues and peacock & floral motifs for a sophisticated touch.
Summer’s hair and makeup were done by Hitched Hair and Makeup.
They put Summer’s hair into a slicked-back gorgeous ponytail to ensure minimal fuss, while the makeup was dark and moody with berry-toned lips.
Troy from Troy Bishop Photography captured the images so perfectly with his documentary style. He has a passion for capturing authentic moments under natural light and specialises in indoor and outdoor lifestyle family photography.
He was amazing, kind and patient with our models – especially our two little bunnies!
Maryke created a beautiful bespoke wedding dress worn by our gorgeous model Summer.
Maryke offers made-to-measure collection designs that are often inspired by beautiful laces and classic silhouettes. The Emily design features intricate lace detail which is individually cut, pinned and sewn by hand. A flowy chiffon skirt with a long train adds just enough whimsical romance to make any bride feel like a princess.
Candle dipping at Piggly wiggly brought the loveliest wax candle eggs and bunnies.
If you have kids definitely plan a trip there to decorate your own Easter candle and celebrate the long weekend in the beautiful Midlands.
Thank you so much to the team for allowing Hooray to share this Easter Styled Shoot with our readers today.
